My deepest condolences to Joan's family. She was a wonderful cheerful friend to me and a strong supporter of the local jazz scene attending the Spring-Summer Jazz series without fail as presented by the Southampotn Jazz Club. I enjoyed speaking with Joan about music and in particular the jazz shows she would attend at the Rex in Toronto. It was an honour for our trio to perform for her 90th birthday party in Southampton last summer and meet her wonderful loving family. She will be missed.
